The photo and following article is taken from The Philadelphia Daily News, special supplement entitled 'SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY,' October 26, 1987. The special supplement was issued in conjunction with the dedication of the Philadelphia Viet Nam Memorial. After graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School with the Class of 1965, "Andy" Anderson's classmates thought he would enter the business world. Instead he joined the Army. The 20-year-old sergeant, a supply clerk and a gunner with Company B of the 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division, died in Viet Nam on July 2, 1968.
