Junie, I never forgot you, thirty years ago I watched them place your body in that grave in Hopewell, Virginia. I as a child then thought you needed to be home in Dinwiddie but those in favor of an honorable burial decided otherwise. I did 22 years in the Navy and I thought of you every day, I dedicated that service to you and I finished it for you! I pray that you found the quiet in death that you could not capture as a young man. Your memory lives in me and my people, I refuse to let them forget ... You are our HERO!!
Your cousin, 23 Jun 2005 By posting on this site I have discovered what was hidden from us all... I received an e-mail from someone who was there when you ran out of time! You gave your life attempting to save the life of someone else, this was hidden from us all these years, not a whisper was heard but the truth ALWAYS comes to light. I have informed all of our family and friends including your baby girl about the sacrifice you made, we are all proud of you Junie! Willie was elated to find out the truth, so was your sister. Thirty-four years later, damn what a shame! Soldiers are dying again on foreign soil for this country, I pray for their families as others have prayed for ours. Mr. Bill Henson, on behalf of the Harvell family we sincerely thank you, sir, for "The Night Bobby Ray Ran Out of Time" and for contacting me. May God have mercy on us all....
