I still remember Don and think of him.
His efforts are not forgotten.
He lives in my memory.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

Available records indicate the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry, lost five men on 01 June 1968 - three infantrymen from Alpha and two medics from HHC:
  • A Co, 2nd Bn, 14th Infantry
    • SSG George R. Proctor, Hondo, TX
    • SP4 Donald E. Arnold, East St Louis, IL
    • PFC Jack W. Calfee, Miami, FL

  • HHC, 2nd Bn, 14th Infantry
    • SP4 Michael J. Conrady, Sheffield Lake, OH
    • SP4 Donald D. Meis, Wichita, KS
It is believed that SP4 Meis was in the field with Alpha, but the circumstances of SP4 Conrady's death are less clear ... he's coded as having died in a UH-1C helicopter incident, but there's no available record of any other deaths or injuries from a helo incident.
