I remember my brother as having a positive attitude. In one of Tony's letters to our mom, he said that several times as he sat in his foxhole, as the incoming mortars were coming in and bullets were hissing over his head, he would look up at the pretty blue sky above, and he could feel the presence of God with him, and then he did not feel afraid after that, but would look up and smile.
