A Note from The Virtual Wall SP4 Valente was assigned to the Headquarters Company, 554th Engineers, as is usual for medical personnel, but was in the field with "B" Company at the time of the ambush. He and other men of the 554th are remembered by today's 554th Engineers Visit John Dennison's Medics on the Wall memorial which honors the Army Medics and Navy Corpsmen who died in Vietnam.
