| Stockett was a tall, strong young man who had already served one tour in a mortar platoon when I met him. I was still a "cherry" when he returned for another tour, this time as a team member with Echo Recon. He really believed in doing what he could for his country. While on leave just before his last tour of duty; he became engaged. Prior to his being killed in action he personally engaged 3 NVA soldiers. He was a good guy who like so many died too young.
